July 22nd, 2006

Yay! We are all packed up, the apartment is cleaned, the mail is getting checked (not really, but we don't get anything), emails have been sent, registration and confirmations have been printed off, and money has been sent. We are ready to go! Well...we would be, but it's not time to go! ARGH! It's 9:44 pm on Saturday night and we are itching to go. We don't leave until 8:22 am Sunday morning. We take a 3 hour train trip to Okayama. Then a 4 hour train trip to Tokyo. And then a 1 hour train trip to Narita. Woosh! That's a lot of train tripping. 8 hours of sitting in a chair and watching wide-eyed out the window. Good thing I really like trains. Chris is already planning on sleeping on the trains. I plan on reading one of my two books and playing some games.

On Monday, we will get up and leave our hotel at around 10:00 (probably) and wait around at the airport until 3:30 until our plane flies out. How exciting. Of course, its another 12 hours of sitting in the chair PLUS you can't look out the window without people getting cranky. Not that you can see anything anyways. The fun part about crossing the international dateline is (as Mom and David and Jane and Randy know), we will arrive in Atlanta 30 minutes before we left Japan. Cooool. Or trippy. Ive decided it means that we are going to be time travelling. Of course, I have always told peopel that when they talk to me, Im in the fuuuuture!! Oooo! Scary! Ok...that color thing was really hard since I don't have a mouse and I am using a laptop. You should be impressed, dangit!!

:-)

Can you tell I am excited? Packing was fun because we had a lot less stuff than we thought we did so we are taking a much smaller second suitcase than we first thought we would have to. Thats good. Travelling by train with one big suitcase is tough...but with one giant suitcase plus a big suitcase...it might have been almost impossible! Egads!

Anyways, remember! We will be in Athens on Monday probably about 5:00 or so. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we will be in Hiawassee. The rest of the time will be back in Athens (plus one birthday trip to atlanta...Happy Birthday Nana!). Also, don't forget the party/barbeque/reception thing in Winterville on the 5th (I think). It shoudl be fun. Yay for american barbeques! I haven't had a real hotdog since awhile before I left. This must be stopped!

Ok, thats it. I'm signing off now. Can't wait to see everyone!
