I really havent a clue how far or even which direction I went. Chris
will know but he's not home right now (slaving away at work when I get
to peddle around our cute city).
Anyways, i got some pictures but first let me tell you about my trip!
I started by going the way we normally drive because I wanted to be
able to find things by bike when Chris isnt around. So I peddled around
adn then saw a sign pointing to Izumo-taisha. You know, where the big
old shrine is. Well anyways, yesterday Chris told me that to get to
Taisha you follow the signs until you hit the mountains and then you
turn left and go up a steep road and blah blah blah. That made me go
"huh, I think I will bike to the mountains!" I like mountains. I grew
up around them...and I just really like being around them. So I
followed the signs to Izumo-Taisha. Eventually I got to a crossroad. If
I turned like the sign said, I would go to taisha. If I went straight
down this tiny road, I would get to a mountain. So I chose to do the
less wise thing and left the main road and turned up this little road.
Turned out it was a road through many rice fields. It was so pretty and
peaceful. Its harvest time for the rice so there were several farmers
in a few fields harvesting the grains. So I took pictures! Not of the
actual harvesting because I thought that would be kinda rude to take
pictures of people I dont know and I couldnt really ask them. So thats
where I went. I went to the end of my road. I didnt get to the mountain
though. But I was close. Maybe a kilometer or two away. I just wasnt
sure I wanted to go through the rural area to try to get to the
mountain. I thought I might get lost. But that was my trip. I bike
nonstop for a little more than an hour. So Im beat! But it was a really
fun and peaceful trip. Plus! Excercise!! Can it ever be a bad thing? :)
So, without further ado, here are my pictures
This is a close up of rice on the bush. Everyone is right.
It looks just like wheat. My big, unresized picture is absolutely
GORGEOUS but it would be too big for this journal.
This is the same ricefield. I actually took these two pictures on
Saturday when Chris took me around on our bikes. There is a
little shrine on the other end of this rice field but you cant see it
in this picture.
This is while Im still on a main road. I just thought it was
really pretty. You can see how some fields have been harvested
and the others are still growing.
This is the rice drying I think. I dont really know but it looks like a
tiny hayfield. The bigger picture is also really pretty because
there are more details.
Look it! Im getting closer to the mountain. You can see
this mountain from our door when you look out. It has that funny
bald spot on it. Im not sure why...but I took this picture
because I like this mountain. Im so creative, I think of this as
the donut mountain. Heh. Im sure it has a name, I just dont
know what.
If you look closely in this picture in the backgroun, you can see the
wierd bald donut patch on the mountain from above. This is a
picture from oour door if it gives you any indication of how far our I
went. :)
And this is as close as I got to the mountain. See, the rest is
just houses and I just wasnt comfortable riding my bike alone around
them. Coulda been weird. Im actually standing on railroad tracks
in this picture. It was my marker or how far our I went.
And this was just a pretty picture on the way back from my trip. I liked the view so picture!
I hope you enjoyed my pictures of my excursion, I was very amused when
I biked around. Im very tired right now though. Heh.
