Here are some pictures of my apartment an around and stuff.
These are the views you see if you are leaving our apartment. I
like it, because its busy and urban but kinda peaceful. A lot
quieter than you would expect.
This is our cute apartment building. Well, maybe not cute but I
like it. We are on the fifth floor, all the way on the end.
How lovely. The elevator is really nice. I say this now, so
no one asks if I actually use the stairs. I mean, I would...but
the elevator is so nice...I would hate to not use it. ;-)
This is one of my favorite parts of our building. We have a
little playground at the bottom (you can kinda see it in the previous
picture because I was on the bike path when I took that).
Anyways, its really cute when a lot of genki Japanese children play
around down there. They just seem so happy and excited. Its
great.
This is our very clean kitchen. Notice, no dishes in the sink and
no dirty dishes or empty cans/bottles sitting around. Eh?
Eh? Who's a good little housekeeper? Me!
Our living room. I dont know why its grainy, but this is half of our
living room. Im standing in the kitchen when I took this
picture. I was watching a really boring movie when I took this
picture. Our little heater table thing is really
cluttered but I cant keep it clean. I just kinda stack everything
up and make it look presentable. Its just the table where
everything goes! What can I do?
Here's our crazy couch thing. It looks like one of those
inflatable rafts and kinda feels like it too. Its weirdly not
comfortable. I would really like to get a blanket or some sort of
cover for it. Because its this weird pleather material.
Hey! The table looks clean from this angle! Yay! See
our cute curtains, they are baby blue and pink plaid. I like them
and they arent like sickening cute or anything.
This is the best I could do with pictures of this room. There is
really no good place to take pictures in the room. Its just a big
empty room. Its the same size as the bedroom, but looks SO MUCH
BIGGER because there isnt a lot in there. We dont really use this
room except for storage (see my tiara sitting on the little drawers in
the bottom right corner?)
This is our tatami floors. This room and the bedroom have tatami
floors. They are really comfortable feeling to the feet because
they are squishy. They also clean much better than carpets.
Just vaccum right up! They do have an odd odor to them, but
unfortuately, I think its because our tatami are old.
The bedroom. The bed cannot be made! Seriously. The
blanket is just one big square and it doesnt cover the entire
bed. I really hate this bed. Its hard and uncomfortable and
smaller than a normal twin bed. HATE! See the
fan. I love the fan. It helps with the hot heat.
Heh. What I do like about the bed is that there are drawers under
it where I can keep all my clothes! I dont have a lot of
clothes...people told me not to bring a lot...and now I run out of
shirts really quickly. Oops. Oh well...maybe I will get
some cool Japanese tshirts with bad english. Look, you can
see more tatami!
This is our balcony. ITs really quite large and I like it.
Unfortunately, its really really dirty so we dont really go out on it
much. I will have to sweep it soon but Ive been putting it
off. The weird netting is so the pigeons cant land on the balcony
and nest and poop everywhere.
Last picture! This was actually taken first but I saved it for
last. Chris sitting in our kitchen! I cant really remember
why or what we were doing, but my suspicions are that he was sitting in
front of the fan. How fun!
So thats the apartment and stuff. The pictures look amazingly
like Chris's, but thats the best I can do. Hope you enjoyed my
little tour!
