October 17th, 2005

So this might not be the most interesting post in the world but I figured it was time. People keep asking me if it feels any different now that we are married. The short answer is "No". I mean, we were living together for a month before we got married, we kinda already transitioned into that phase. Plus we are very similar so we dont have many things that we do differently from each other (if that makes any sense). But, I realized that most people know what Chris does during the day, but only know that I sit around during the day. Which is true. But I thought I would give you a little look into my day as a housewife.

I wake up at 9:45 so I can get up and on the computer in case family comes on to chat. That means Im usually on around 9:00 PM your time if you want to chat. Im sujihime on AIM and sujihime@msn.com for MSN messenger. Try me, Im probably there.

At 10:00, Spin City comes on for an hour. I usually watch that while I wake up. IT gives me time to check my email, talk with mom and figure out what I want to do. Plus its really funny and I miss American tv. Its gives me a schedule, as weird as that is.

At 10:40, Spin City is over and Mom has usually gone away. I either shower or I finish my websurfing.

At 11:00 I go out for lunch. To the supermarket across the street (Hok). I either get something from the Bakery or I get some rice and chicken to eat. I do eat random things sometimes, but usually this is what I eat. I havent actually ventured out for lunch beyond the Hok. I will eventually...just dont want to yet.

At 12:00 I start laundry if its laundry day (today was actually but I didnt have all that much laundry to do). If its not laundry day, I either clean up a room or two or just watch tv. Regardless, 12:00 is usually when good tv shows come on so I normally watch it (mon:bulls, tue:jag, wed:Spin city (charlie sheen episodes), thur: Third Watch, Fri:Felicity) . TV was a hobby of mine back in America and I do schedule my day by tv...but its a good way of knowing what time it is.

At 1:00 I also watch TV while cleaning. Usually the crappy TV shows come on at 1:00 but they are still American tv. (Thursday has ER so thats my good TV day).

At 2:00 is when I go out if Im going to go out for the day. It gives me 2 hours before Chris gets home. So I can bike around or do whatever I do. I dont go out a lot because I dont really have anywhere to go or it rains. But its my errand time.

At 3:00 if I havent gone out, its TV movie time. I only watch the movie on Mondays though (its Columbo and for some weird reason I like Columbo a lot). On not monday, I usually play Everyone Loves Katamari Damacy. Its realy quite fun and gives me something to do.

At 4:00 Chris comes home! Hooray! He will come in and talk to me for a bit about his day, but then he usually goes to lie down for a nap since he has to get up really early. Usually I just putter around when he's napping.

At 5:00 we start fussing about dinner. We are still trying to figure out food in Japan and restaurants. I guess after being here for a few months you would think we would have it down better...but its hard. You dont want to go to a random restaurant because if they dont have pictur menus then we are in trouble and you never know what you might get. We dont normally go out to eat until 6:00.

At 7:00 if we have just decided to eat in, we come back here and fix dinner (usually rice with some sort of topping and maybe a veggie or salad if we are feeling the needs for greens). MacGuiver comes on at 7:00 and Chris really likes that show so we will usually watch it while we eat.

At 8:00 we usually put in some DVDs. Lately we have been watching TV series that we managed to miss somehow. We did Alias: Season One first. It was a good show but ended on a cliff hanger and its seems that season 2 is never in the video rental place. Then we watched Lost which is a REALLY good show which has several unanswered questions but we obviously cant get Second season easily (Im downloading Episode 1 right now though because Im a bad person). WE watched some Babylon 5 and x-Files but they werent that great and we are really waiting to get 24 so I can finally see what all the fuss was about! Anyways, we usually watch DVDs until about 11:00 or 11:30.

Then I go to bed. And Chris comes in usually about 15-30 minutes later. And then I start over the next day.

So its not terribly interesting to be me right now and I do wish I had more to do...but I am enjoying myself. Even though I sit around a lot and watch a lot of tv, I can manage to keep myself busy. Between the internet and random tv shows Im not usually that bored. Well, its like 2:30 now and I havent gone out (laundry day usually keeps me busy all day AND Im waiting for the post man to come) so that means its time to play some Katamari!

(If you are wondering whats on tv on the times I didnt mention 11:00 and 2:00 are Spanish Novellas, 5:00 is Walker Texas Ranger and 6:00 is CHiPs...just to round out the tv schedule...Im so strange)
