Be impressed. :) I am!

Anyways, time for a story.

Early this morning I was woken up by a loud rumbling. I couldn't figure it out. It sounded like thunder and a train at the same time. I laid there wondering why it felt like I was on a boat. I mean, I was swaying back and forth and going up and down. I thought maybe the bed was shaking or Chris was rolling over or something. Except...you know...we sleep on the floor! It was an earthquake! A pretty big one (apparently about 3 or 4 where we were). It was so spooky. Because we were on the 5th floor, we felt it a lot more than people on the first few. Apparently their dishes were just rattling and some things fell to the floor. But to us, it was really noticable. Eek! The stairs next to our apartment are rusted metal, so that was what was rumbling so loud. Very freaky stuff.

I woke Chris up because I was a little bit scared. I mean, it was my first time Ive ever felt an earthquake! Chris was very unimpressed. He just said, "It's an earthquake..." and then rolled over and went back to sleep. My brave husband.

It only lasted about 30 seconds to a minute. I couldn't really tell how long. But it took a minute to settle down.

I got up around 8:30 and checked the news and it said that there was a 6.1 magnitude earthquake on Kyushu (southern most islands) but people felt it as far away as Hiroshima (which we are just north of). So that's cool. Only 2 people were injured, and just because they got bonked on the head. Not serious.

But that was my first earthquake and I thought I would share.

Now I need to go to work. I go to Takamatsu elementary for a few hours today. I have a poopy meeting thats going to be boring and useless since it will be mostlyin Japanese. Oh well!

42 days until we leave for America!
